General Questions
What is Purview?
Purview is a new generation imaging delivery platform enabling physician’s easy and affordable access to medical images as an integrated part of their patient’s health record wherever and whenever they are needed. We are frustrated by inaccessible silos of patient information we continue to run into. We think patients should be engaged and active collaborators in their own healthcare. Purview is focused on building amazing technology to improve patient outcomes by making their medical records available anywhere, anytime, on any device at your or the patient’s direction.
Why do patients need access to their medical records?
It seems odd to us that patients have to jump through so many hoops to get access to their own images. We have found that doctors who make medical records available to their patients have better relationships with their patients. They also reduce their own costs by enabling patients to make their records available to other specialists or referring physicians. It has been shown that engaged patients have better physician experiences and are more likely to be healthier. And, less likely to file medical malpractice suits. Sharing images with patients enables them, on their own, to more easily coordinate treatment from multiple speciality physicians, obtain second opinions.
What if my internet connection is slow?
Unfortunately, we’ve run across several geographies (like Southern California in the US) that we would have thought had great internet service, but didn’t. We’ve had to adjust to that. Necessity is the mother of invention, so we came up with a great solution. By utilizing a device we call a bridge, we can store studies locally and only transmit them to the cloud when network traffic is slow. We retain copies of the most recent studies locally, making them instantly available. This solution provides the advantages of the cloud even when your internet connection stinks.
I’m interested in one of your solutions for my workplace, how can I contact you?
You can fill out a Contact Us form. We love getting these forms, so fill one out and make our day. We’ll get back to you as soon as we can or the very next business day (whichever is sooner). Or, you can give us a call at (800) 501-1537. If you are nearby, smoke signals are also acceptable. That is if the wind is light.
What if I can’t find my subspecialty?
Take a look at our solutions pages. If your subspecialty is not listed, pick one that is close. You will find that there are similarities in how some similar subspecialties handle medical imaging. Or, check out our customer success stories and see if one hits close to home.
Why should I use a cloud PACS?
Sure, everyone is talking about the cloud as the next big thing in computing. But there are real benefits for the physician using the cloud. The cloud is an enabler. Medical images stored in the cloud become accessible much more easily. They can be shared with other physicians or patients with no additional work, cost or special equipment. Physicians who rely on the cloud for their image storage are better prepared for disasters, improve their security, and enhance privacy. They avoid having to worry about technical obsolesce, and in the cloud, you never run out of storage. In summary, access is facilitated, costs are controlled, and security enhanced. Our cloud also satisfies Stage 2 Meaningful Use and of course HIPAA.
